Fans of The Matrix trilogy were surprised when Laurence Fishburne, who famously portrayed Morpheus, did not appear in the latest installment, The Matrix Resurrections. Fishburne recently addressed this on 'The View,' where he candidly revealed that he wasn't asked to join the project, despite making his availability known. The Matrix Resurrections did see Keanu Reeves reignite his role as Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity. Yet, Morpheus, a central figure in the original trilogy and a fan favorite, was portrayed by a new actor, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
